Zaki Orthodontics in Virginia Beach provides emergency treatment for our patients. We know that accidents happen when you’re wearing braces. Whether it’s a broken wire, pain, a traumatic accident or discomfort, you can count on Zaki Orthodontics to be there for you in an emergency!
Traumatic Orthodontic Emergencies: Traumatic orthodontic emergencies may occur because of an auto accident or high impact sports such as soccer, baseball, lacrosse or football. If you have lost one or more teeth, please try to find them and place them in cold milk. If milk is not available, keep the tooth/teeth under your tongue. Call our office or your dentist immediately, so we can give you the care you need for any damage caused to your teeth and/or braces.
Non-Emergency Types of Problems: Fortunately, most traumatic orthodontic emergencies seldom happen, but there are some common problems that can occur with braces. For most problems, you may even be able to alleviate the pain or discomfort by yourself until you can call and visit our office the next day.
If something happens to your mouth or braces during office hours, call immediately, and one of our team members will fit you into the schedule. If you need emergency treatment after hours because the pain is too much or the broken appliance is hindering your eating, drinking or sleeping, call our office line, and follow the recorded instructions.
